Manipulations and Joint Mobilizations
Involves the treatment of orthopedic conditions by the use of the
Physio’s hands. This may include therapist assisted stretches, joint
mobilizations and manipulations.

Exercise
Strengthening, stretching and exercises to increase range of motion
in a joint are often given as a home program, which requires the
patient's involvement and commitment to the healing process .

Heat Moist heat packs are used at theclinic. Often heat
therapy can expedite the healing
process, allow for easier and faster gains in stretching and provide an
environment of pain relief.
Improvement of the blood flow so other modalities and therapies following application of heat have more effect. Suitable problems
include arthritis, sports injuries, tendonitis and post surgical.
Cold Ice packs are used for immediate first aid of injuries to control
swelling. They are also used to reduce muscle spasm and pain and are
used interchangeably with heat for some chronic diseases.

Soft Tissue Massage
Local soft tissue massage, frictions and acupressure are manual techniques used for the treatment of muscle, tendon, ligament and joint problems such as swelling, pain and increased tension and stiffness.

Electrotherapy
Various modalities including electrical neurostimulation will be
utilized in the treatment of pain, muscular weakness and swelling.
IFC (interferential current) mainly used to
reduce pain conditions
TENS (transcutaneous electrical nerve
stimulation) portable home electrical stimulation unit designed to
provide pain relief only
NMES (neuromuscular electrical stimulation) Low level electrical stimulus that causes muscle contraction. This can help to prevent muscle atrophy from prolonged immobilization, or to retrain muscles that have lost contractile ability and function.

Ultrasound
High frequent sound treatment used for anti-inflammatory effect, soft
tissue healing and vasodilation. Decreases pain, increases tissue
elasticity, degrades scar tissue, increases cellular activity, and increases
circulation.

Taping
To support and relieve stress on joints after sprains and strains, and to add extra value to certain exercise therapies. Also promotes
faster healing and offers added protection.
